This was our appeal for support just prior to the 2006 cross country ride:
You might have heard of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund which is the focus of this effort. They are a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization and part of the Intrepid Foundation in NYC. They are building a state of the art rehabilitation facility at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX. which is called the Center for the Intrepid.  This will be of great benefit to our returning wounded soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. Many are returning with serious wounds which require special advanced treatment and rehabilitation. They, and their families, deserve the best care possible. We can help with donations, large and small, 100% of which will go directly to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

Our 90th anniversary ride spread the word about the need to support the Center for the Intrepid. With the help of press releases and newspaper publicity (of which we were fortunate to get four nice articles), we collected donations for this worthy cause as we traveled cross country. Maybe you would like to contribute?

The Intrepid Fund can be found at www.fallenheroesfund.org. You can donate directly to the Fund, but we suggest you send a check made out to the "Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund" to our address at Van Buren LLC, PO Box 926, Northborough, MA. 01532 so we can register the donations. Write "Van Buren Sisters" in the note section. We will collect and submit them monthly to the Fund in NYC.
